The Battlepass is a per-season item. It allows you to earn various rewards and features by completing missions that give you XP, and in turn allow you to level up. These levels are referred to as "Tiers", each tier will give different rewards depending on the Pass you have, for example: The premium pass will give better rewards than the free one.
